The (Emerging) Designer Awards took its Awards Ceremony to Sydney this year, taking over the Menzies Bar at Shell House for the evening. The exclusive industry event welcomed more than 100 of Australia’s most esteemed architects, designers and industry stakeholders, alongside an exciting cohort of emerging practitioners.
Presented by Artedomus and The Local Project, the proceedings were led by Artedomus’ Managing Director Phil Brenton alongside The Local Project’s Founder and CEO, Aidan Anderson. “Artedomus has been supporting the Australian design industry for 39 years, and standing here tonight is a testament to our ongoing commitment to fostering design excellence,” said Phil in his official welcome. “We created The (Emerging) Designer Awards to provide a platform for early-career designers who demonstrate innovation in their approach to materials, sustainability, and spatial design,” he said.
“The calibre of submissions we received this year has been exceptional. It is a reflection of the extraordinary talent in the Australian design community, and we are proud to offer this platform to help propel your careers forward.”
Artedomus and The Local Project extend special thanks to the Awards’ 2024 Jurors, Yasmine Ghoniem, Director of YSG Studio; David Meagher, Managing Editor of The Local Project; Chris Haddad, Founding Director of Archier; Thomas Coward, Creative Director of Artedomus | New Volumes, and Alice Blackwood, Editorial Director at Artedomus.
