Artedomus and The Local Project share a deep-seated commitment to supporting the Australian design industry, so it is particularly exciting to launch this new level of support for Australia’s incredible design community. We conceived The (Emerging) Designer Awards to provide a platform to promote designers in the early stages of their design journey. Our goal was to offer those promising designers not only the recognition they deserve but also to provide a promotional framework to give their careers a significant head start.

Together Artedomus with The Local Project created this program to recognise the work of early-stage designers that demonstrated the potential and original use of material and space, sustainability and innovative thinking. The calibre of entries in 2023 demonstrated a healthy cohort of emerging designers keen to make their mark, with projects of outstanding quality.

Our Jury was beyond impressed and it reiterates – if there was ever any doubt – that the standard of work in Australia is world-class and everyone who entered should be incredibly proud. As this awards program continues to grow, we look forward to supporting these designers with their visions for a beautiful and sustainable future.
